2022.4.16 Meeting with New Members
Three new members joined RTT Japan! We introduced ourselves and shared our interests and passion for nuclear disarmament.
2022.3.30 Meeting with Mitchie Takeuchi
We had a conversation with Mitchie Takeuchi, a second generation Hibakusha. She inspired us with her stories of nuclear activism in New York and encouraged us to “joyfully” work towards nuclear disarmament and abolition with youth from Japan and around the world.
2022.3.11 Study Session with Benetick Kabua Maddison
We invited Benetick from Marshallese Educational Initiative to learn about the impact of nuclear weapons on Marshall Islands and the community.
2022.3.1 Marshallese Education Institute Youth Academy
We made a presentation on the history of Hiroshima and Nagasaki for Marshallese Educational Initiative.
2022.2.4 Info Session II
At the second info session, we discussed the role of RTT in the nuclear disarmament movement of Japan. Participants agreed that the emphasis on the interconnectedness between nuclear weapons and climate change, and the global network make RTT unique among many other nuclear disarmament organizations in Japan. Participants suggested that sharing nuclear disarmament and climate activism abroad with Japanese youth can be beneficial.
2021.12.30 Info Session
We held an info session and introduced RTT Japan to people who are interested in working with us. We actively exchanged ideas for RTT Japan’s activities with participants, such as holding regular info sessions, events, or instagram live, and connecting with climate activists and other organizations in Japan. We decided to create a Facebook group chat to create a network of RTT supporters and develop a logo for RTT Japan.
