RTT Japan

Welcome to RTT Japan! We are youth from Japan who share the goal of nuclear disarmament and abolition. Two cities in Japan, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, experienced nuclear bombings, which left tremendous sorrow and trauma among people in the cities and across the country. Recognizing the negative impacts of nuclear weapons on individuals and communities in Japan and beyond, RTT Japan supports Japan’s ratification of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and works to expand the global network of youth who combat the threats of nuclear weapons.

Yuta Takahashi is a co-founder of KNOW NUKES TOKYO (KNT). He is studying Political Science at the University of Keio. With his passion for Japan's nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation policy, he promotes dialogue between policymakers and citizens through various meetings and events. KNT is also a partner organization of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). Yuta was born in Hiroshima, Japan, in 2000. As he grew up in Hiroshima, he encountered many Hibakusha, atomic bomb survivors, which motivated him to promote the global awareness of the humanitarian impact of any use of nuclear weapons.
